Great Weekend Away

Hi guys, I know I've been a bad, bad, blogger, not been here for an age!

Just before I start, I want to say a HUGE thank you to everyone for a brilliant weekend.

I was away at the weekend for the Geordieland meet, a great wee get together that started of with a bunch of us from the ATC forum on Docrafts meeting in Cazro's village hall. For the last 5 years we've enjoyed each others company, made things, learnt new techniques from some talented crafters, made things to swap with each other, chatted and generally had a great time!

Through this I've met so many new friends,in "real life" who untill 5 years ago were just cyber friends!
There's 3 of us that go from up here in Scotland, we make a weekend of it staying over Friday and Saturday night in a hotel, normally we head to the Harrogate Show on the Sunday only this year the show's not till October. But not to worry, we ended up going to Rainton Meadows after Caz found us a Ross Papercrafting Show :)
Friday night a few of us went out for dinner, Caz, her lovely husband Keith, Pat, Jan June, Lynne and myself. It was tasty as ever!!
Saturday we all met at the hall there was 13 more of us (I think!!!)
Jan and Pat gave us workshops on journaling and book binding, which I thoroughly enjoyed.
I wanted to share with you what I made.

These were the right way around but don't know whats happened or how to fix it!!

Isn't it amazing what you can do with a hair band and a coffee stirrer!!!

We all picked a quote/word to base our page around, mine was EXPLORE so here's what I came up with, it's not finished yet but ....
Next we made a flag book which looked really complicated but once Pat had talked us through it it was fine, a really neat look and I'll be making more of these for sure.
cool eh?!!
I just love this technique, it's fab and costs next to nothing!

Caz showed us how to make cool wee boxes from a sheet of 12x12, they can be made with 8x8, 6x6 or 4x4 too
no scissors needed, just folding, how cool!!!

Lynne showed us how to turn plumbers metal tape into some fab tags, with alcohol inks and bits of chipboard, washers and the likes!!

Finally I wanted to show you the goodies I was able to buy on Sunday as my lovely (but silly!!) man gave me his card, just incase I needed it!!!

I've wanted, sorry needed those paper pack and snoflake border for SO long!!! Finally, they're mine!!
All the Crafty Individual stamps were 1/2 price, bargain eh?!     Thanks Fred! <3
